[E-Daily Reporter Kim Eung-tae] STraffic (234300) announced on the 12th that it participated as a consortium leader in the bidding for the Korea Expressway Corporation's 'Korea-Mobility as a Service (K-MaaS) Relay Platform Establishment Project' and was selected as the operator.
MaaS is a system that provides comprehensive transportation services so that individuals and companies can use the necessary means at the right time by flexibly combining various means of transportation. The K-MaaS relay platform to be built under the auspices of the Korea Expressway Corporation serves as an infrastructure that can connect and operate various transportation operators and K-MaaS service platform operators. Through the relay platform, convenience can be provided to users by realizing key services such as movement and integrated payment using multiple means of transportation (multimodal), which are the core of K-MaaS.
After being operated by Korea Expressway Corporation for two years, the relay platform supports the growth of the transportation ecosystem by creating various services by disclosing the interface specifications (API) essential for linking transport operators to the private sector. STraffic has already been recognized for its business capabilities by winning a project to build a wide-area MaaS platform. The Jeollanam-do Provincial Office is building the Jeonnam Tourism Platform (J-TaaS), which was ordered last year as part of a plan to revitalize the tourism industry. J-TaaS is a wide-area tourism MaaS platform that combines tourism contents such as lodging, restaurants, and tourist attractions as well as transportation such as railways, express buses, and rental cars for the Jeollanam-do region. Since February this year, it has been piloted in 22 cities and counties in Jeollanam-do, and the official service is expected to open in June.
STraffic plans to actively discover future growth engines this year by expanding and reorganizing its software (S/W) division into the MaaS division.
Moon Chan-jong, CEO of S-Traffic, said, "The selection of the preferred bidder is the result of being recognized for our technology and capabilities in the transportation information and communication technology (ICT) field." We will build the platform without a hitch.” |
