STraffic, a company specializing in transportation solutions, announced on the 15th that it showed improvement in performance by winning various projects in the domestic and overseas road and railway sectors in the first quarter of this year.

According to STraffic, consolidated sales in the first quarter of this year were KRW 23.5 billion, up 11% from the same period last year. During the same period, operating profit was 1.2 billion won and net profit was 500 million won, respectively.

In the road sector, a lot of sales were generated from the construction of the Padma Bridge and the N8 road traffic system in Bangladesh. In the railroad sector, the Samsung-Dongtan high-speed train control system (PJT), Seoul subway line 9 LTE-R construction project, and Washington station automation facility construction project drove sales growth.

STraffic is strengthening its future growth engine by combining artificial intelligence (AI) technology and cloud technology in the road and rail sector. We are developing a deep learning license plate image recognition engine used in high-pass, etc., and are promoting the expansion of smart station construction that can improve subway safety and operation.

In particular, it is expanding the American market by adding an illegal boarding prevention solution to the faregate of the existing subway station automation system (AFC-Automatic Fare Collection). Last April, through its 100%-owned subsidiary, the US corporation, it competed with the 1st and 2nd largest companies in the US and won the San Francisco BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) AFC gate construction project.
