Introduction

The Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) development solution is designed to streamline fare transactions and enhance passenger convenience in metro and public transportation systems.

The TVM is an automated system that enables passengers to purchase tickets or add value to smart cards efficiently. Installed in public transit areas, it reduces the need for manual ticket sales while improving service reliability.

Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) is installed in the free area and enable passengers to add value in Contactless Smart Card (CSC). According to the CSC and valuing procedure, TVM is able to add value in CSC with as much passenger input money as possible. After finishing the add-value, TVM returns CSC to passenger and display the remaining balance of CSC simultaneously. According to the purchasing procedure, it automatically gives coin / note change to passengers. The external structure of the front panel will be designed ergonomically and will allow passengers, including the handicapped and children, to insert notes and to recharge the cards easily. The maintenance will be implemented at the front side of TVM. Accessing into a TVM for maintenance will require the use of security access keys which will be used to open the associated covers and locks.

To address these challenges, the TVM incorporates:

• Multiple Payment Methods: Accepts cash, debit/credit cards, and smart payment systems.

• User-Friendly Interface: Features a touchscreen for intuitive navigation.

• Automated Change Dispensing: Coin and banknote modules ensure smooth transactions.

• Security Features: Includes authentication mechanisms, encryption protocols, and fraud prevention measures.

The TVM development project for Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) was successfully completed. The Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) were installed across multiple metro lines, and all required testing, commissioning, and compliance activities were fulfilled. The project met all contractual conditions, and a request was made for the final closure of the Defects Liability Period (DLP) along with the issuance of a completion certificate and the release of the Performance Bank Guarantee.

During the two-year Defects Liability Period (DLP), STraffic diligently fulfilled its responsibilities, ensuring the project's successful completion. The company conducted thorough testing, commissioning, and handover of Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) across various metro lines in Delhi, India.

Throughout this period, STraffic complied with all contractual obligations, addressed any technical issues, and maintained seamless operations. Regular reports and updates were submitted to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC), confirming the project's progress and adherence to quality standards.

Upon completing all required activities, STraffic formally requested the closure of the DLP, issuance of the completion certificate, and release of the Performance Bank Guarantee, marking the official conclusion of the project.
