Overview of the Daegu Metro Line 1 Ansan~Hayang Video Transmission System Project by STraffic

The project for the construction of video transmission equipment on the AnsimHayang Double-Track Railway."

The Daegu Metro Line 1 extension from Ansan to Hayang involves the implementation of an advanced video transmission system. This project integrates IP-based video equipment with cutting-edge ICT technology and a 3D-based intelligent integrated monitoring system, known as the Smart Station.

The project period spans from March 11, 2022, to December 31, 2024, with a total budget of 1.4 billion KRW. The Ansim~Hayang section of Daegu Metro Line 1 is set to open on Saturday, December 21, 2024.

 This project is significant as it enhances the safety and efficiency of the metro system by providing real-time monitoring and improved communication capabilities. It also represents a step forward in modernizing urban transportation infrastructure with advanced technology.

Challenges

There are many factors to consider as follows.

1. Integration of Advanced Technology: Implementing a 3D-based intelligent monitoring system required seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
2. Ensuring Reliability: The system needed to be highly reliable to ensure continuous operation without interruptions.
3. Cost Management: Balancing the budget while incorporating state-of-the-art technology was a critical challenge.

• Existing station facility data was scattered, making swift collection and analysis challenging. 

• Security, disaster response, and facility management were operated through separate systems, making integrated management impossible. 

• The lack of real-time monitoring and efficient response mechanisms hindered quick action during emergencies. 

• Technical limitations made it difficult to improve passenger service quality

Solution

To enhance the safety and convenience of passengers using the subway, the extension section of Daegu Metro Line 1 from Ansim to Hayang aims to implement a Smart Station. This includes the establishment of IP-based video systems, integration of advanced ICT technologies, and a 3D-based intelligent integrated monitoring system. These innovations are designed to improve responsiveness to emergencies such as malfunctions and fires, as well as to prevent crimes within stations.

1. Advanced IP-Based Video Equipment: The project utilized IP-based video equipment to ensure high-quality video transmission and real-time monitoring.
2. Smart Station Implementation: The Smart Station system was deployed, integrating various ICT technologies to provide a comprehensive monitoring solution.
3. Collaboration with Experts: STtraffic collaborated with technology experts and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the system.

Result
