STraffic, a leading smart transportation solutions company, announced that following the successful deployment of advanced electronic toll collection (ETC) systems across 24 lanes on the N8 highway in Bangladesh on August 27, it has completed the installation of intelligent transportation systems (ITS) on a 20km section between Panchar and Bhanga, located at the southern end of the Padma Bridge, and officially commenced operations as of October 31.

Through this project, STraffic successfully installed 20 CCTV cameras, 30 video detection systems (VDS), and 4 variable message signs (VMS). The ITS operations for this section are centrally managed by the Doleshwar Traffic Management Center (TMC).

With the completion of this system, an integrated traffic management framework has been established across the entire N8 highway. STraffic officially handed over the system to the local operating authority, marking the start of full-scale operations. A STraffic representative stated, “This project represents a major milestone in the modernization of Bangladesh’s national infrastructure and the development of smart transportation systems. We will continue to contribute to the digital transformation of Bangladesh’s traffic systems based on our accumulated expertise and experience.”
