STraffic has expanded its contract with LA Metro from $4 million to $19 million. The new contract includes replacing fare gates at 10 existing stations and 6 stations on the Purple Line and Foothill extension, along with software improvements. A survey at Firestone station showed over 95% of passengers viewed the new gates positively. STraffic is also bidding for gate replacements at 11 more stations, with installation expected to be completed by November. Additionally, STraffic's fare gates are being tested by New York MTA to prevent fare evasion, with potential expansion to 150 stations if successful.
