Rail-Mil Computers, a company within the Kombud Group, and the South Korean STraffic have signed a strategic cooperation agreement in the field of control systems for railways and subways. The agreement includes, among other things, the South Korean market, which has over 4,000 km of railway lines, including 625 km of high-speed lines. The Seoul Metropolitan Railway System (수도권 전철) covers more than 1,300 km of lines.
– STraffic has successfully carried out large infrastructure projects in 13 countries worldwide, accumulating extensive experience and a diverse product portfolio. The partnership with Rail-Mil Computers will further strengthen our presence in the Korean market and enable both companies to better meet the varied needs of railway and subway infrastructure managers. In particular, we expect this agreement to lead to success in Korean projects involving Automatic Train Operation (ATO), contributing to the development of urban mobility. Furthermore, the collaboration will play a significant role in strengthening alliances on the international stage, solidifying STraffic's position as a global leader, said Jaehee Kim, STraffic's Director.

STraffic is a provider of innovative solutions for urban mobility, operating in both railway and road infrastructure. The company is headquartered in Seongnam-si, South Korea. For 34 years, Kombud Group has implemented more than 300 station systems for railways and subways, as well as over 2,000 traffic protection systems at railway crossings. Kombud's computerized systems manage traffic on the Central Rail Line (CMK), stations in the Warsaw railway junction, the Broad-Gauge Metallurgical Railway Line, and both lines of the Warsaw Metro. More than 550 employees, including 330 engineers, design, patent, and implement modern solutions for subways and railways, based on European standards such as ERTMS and ETCS. Part of the group, Rail-Mil Computers, is the manufacturer of the rmCBTC® system, enabling automatic train operations, as well as eurobalises, programmers, LEU coders, and other electronic components.
These topics will also be addressed during debates at the first High-Speed Rail Congress in Poland – Utilizing Poland's Potential, which will take place on March 17, 2025, in Łódź. The event's agenda will focus on prospects for the development of high-speed rail (HSR) in Poland in terms of rolling stock and infrastructure, as well as financing, regulations, and state policy.
The Congress will also host the 12th European Rolling Stock Forum, which is the largest and most prestigious event in Central and Eastern Europe dedicated to modern railway rolling stock. This year's agenda will also cover infrastructure for high-speed rail and the development strategy for this sector in Poland, addressing topics such as design, construction, and rolling stock for fast trains.
