The Agency (Administrator: Kim Hyung-ryeol) is leveraging its experience in building the Happy City and its international network to support the entry of Korean companies into the Philippine urban development market.

On the January 23rd, the Agency announced that it had formed Team Korea to enter the Philippines and held a launch ceremony.

Last September, the Agency signed a memorandum of understanding with the Philippine Base Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to promote cooperation in urban development. The BCDA oversees major urban development projects in the Philippines, such as 'New Clark City,' which is being touted as the 'second Manila.' The BCDA hopes to collaborate with Korean companies, and the Agency plans to facilitate meetings between BCDA and businesses through Team Korea.

The launch ceremony for Team Korea for the Philippines was attended by 22 organizations and companies, including the Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation, the Overseas Construction Association, and the Smart City Association, which signed operational agreements for Team Korea. Joshua Bingkang, CEO of BCDA, congratulated the launch through a video message.

Team Korea plans to conduct various support activities such as information sharing, business strategy consulting, and human resource exchanges. The Agency and BCDA will also provide opportunities for exchanges and cooperation between Team Korea and local companies in the Philippines.

Administrator Kim Hyung-ryeol said, "We will lead the spread of the K-City model in the Philippines by combining our Happy City construction experience and success cases with the technological power and know-how of our companies. We plan to actively support our companies so that they can demonstrate their capabilities in broader markets."

BCDA CEO Bingkang said, "We look forward to contributing to the development of both countries by building smart and inclusive cities in cooperation with Team Korea."
