[Big Data News Reporter Kim Jun-hyung] The stock price of STRAFFIC surged in after-hours trading. According to the Korea Exchange on the 17th, STRAFFIC's stock price closed at 4,785 won in after-hours trading, up 1.38% from the closing price. The after-hours trading volume of STRAFFIC was 34,978 shares. The transportation solutions specialist STRAFFIC announced on the 8th that its 100% subsidiary, STRAFFIC America, has been selected as the preferred bidder for the LA Metro 'New Faregate Pilot' project, worth approximately $3.5 million (about 4.7 billion won). According to the company, the selection as the preferred bidder was significantly influenced by STRAFFIC America's successful supply and installation of AFC (Automatic Fare Collection) systems faregates for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) and the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). The company explained that they were ultimately selected after passing LA Metro's rigorous evaluation process based on their major references and unique technical capabilities.

Through this project, STRAFFIC America plans to install 185 new faregates at the LA International Airport Transit Center by next month and an additional 21 faregates at three stations of the Purple Line Extension Phase 1 project, which is scheduled to open next year. A STRAFFIC representative stated, "This achievement is significant as it recognizes us as a major player in the U.S. AFC market and positions us favorably for the faregate replacement project across all LA stations, following our previous projects in Washington D.C. and San Francisco." They added, "Supplying our products to a city preparing for major international events such as the 2026 World Cup, 2027 Super Bowl, and 2028 Summer Olympics is expected to elevate the status of STRAFFIC and K-transportation in the global market."

Meanwhile, Eugene Investment & Securities previously evaluated STRAFFIC as a company to watch, leading the acceleration of overseas expansion of 'K-transportation infrastructure.' According to Eugene Investment & Securities, STRAFFIC is a system integration (SI) company specializing in transportation-related systems such as roads and railways, with stable performance growth in Korea and expanding overseas. Park Jong-sun, a researcher at Eugene Investment & Securities, mentioned, "Since entering Azerbaijan in 2018, STRAFFIC has continuously expanded into overseas projects, marking the full-scale global expansion of K-transportation infrastructure." The Padma Bridge and N8 road traffic management system construction in Bangladesh, which will be carried out from May 2022 to April 2027, are scheduled for maintenance for five years after construction. The project size is approximately 18.8 billion won for the Padma Bridge and 26.6 billion won for the N8 road project. Park analyzed, "STRAFFIC is expanding its AFC (Automatic Fare Collection) business in the U.S. The WMATA project in Washington D.C., which has been ongoing since 2019, is the largest system export to a U.S. government agency, worth about $87 million."
